Warsztaty językowe klasy 2A na UAM

W dniu 26 października klasa 2A pod opieką prof. Iwony Wyczyńskiej uczestniczyła w wykładach i warsztatach na UAM w Poznaniu. Uczniowie najpierw uczestniczyli w warsztatach, podczas których dowiedzieli się jak zmienia się postrzeganie otaczającego nas świata w różnych językach i kulturach. Z kolei druga część spotkania była wykładem w języku angielskim, który dotyczył problemu dwujęzyczności. Uczestnicy byli bardzo zadowoleni z warsztatów. Poniżej można przeczytać ich komentarz.
WORKSHOPS
On the 26th August my class 2A participated in English workshops at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań.
The workshops were divided into two parts. The first one was about the connection between culture and language and it was executed in Polish. We got to know, for instance, that in Japan there is a one special word for a woman who is a widow or is just after divorce and she has got a son. Furthermore, there are three different words for sheep in Sheep Islands. One is for a sheep that is keeping close to her herd, another one is for a sheep which likes to go to different fields than her herd and still another is for a sheep that got wet from the water in the ocean. It was a proof for the claim that the culture in which we grow has a huge impact on the language we use on a daily basis.
The second part of the lecture was about bilingualism. A professor, who was a specialist in languages, explained us what the difference between bilingualism and knowing two languages is. He said that people who are bilingual use those languages without considering what they are saying, while people who can speak two languages have to wonder what they are talking about and, moreover, it takes them a second to switch from one language to another.
To my mind we got to know quite satisfying data. The best aspect of those two lectures was the fact that no one was bored and when they were finished everyone was disappointed that it was the end.
